Occupational Health Services

Occupational Health is that branch of medicine, which looks at how a worker's health might affect their work or how their work might affect their health. Its aim is to "promote and maintain the physical, mental and social well being of all staff".

We cover all areas of occupational health.

For instance, advice can be given on how to manage an employee with health problems as well as advising on compliance with Health and Safety legislation (such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Disability Discrimination Act 1995/2005, Display Screen Equipment Regulations 1992).

Initial advice will be given which may be sufficient to guide and support managers or Human Resources to address the problem. In some cases the need for further assessment with an appropriate professional may be identified; for example face to face consultation with an occupational health nurse or physician, a physiontherapist or counsellor.
